CATEGORY A: This yacht is designed for cruising in conditions where the wind can lower then 10 on the Beaufort scale, the significant wave height is greater than 4m and is largely self-sufficient. Excessive conditions, such as hurricanes are excluded. These conditions can be found in long crossings, for example inter-ocean or near the coast, exposed to wind and waves for several hundred nautical miles.
The significant wave height is the average height of the waves that make up the highest third of the same, which is approximately wave height estimated by an experienced observer. Some waves know no twice this height.
